Coaching Staff

All of our coaches are available for private lessons. Lesson rates vary by coach and experience but range from $11.00 - $33.00 per 20 minute lesson. If your lesson is on an open freestyle session, a fee of $13.00 must be paid to the rink for the ice time. The Pond offers a 10 session swipe card for $100.00.

Michelle Gross-Daichman-Michelle Gross Daichman is currently our Learn to Skate Director handling shows, competitions and freestyle. Michelle has 29 years of skating experience and has been coaching in various capacities throughout her skating career. She is a USFS Gold Medalist and an 10 time National Champion in the disciplines of synchronized skating, ice dance and showcase. She continues to compete as a member of DC EDGE Synchronized skating team and in adult competitions. Additionally, Michelle has a BA from Hofstra University in Journalism. Michelle has experience coaching a variety of levels and ages and is available for ice dance, moves in the field, stroking, power skating, synchro skills and basic skills.


Ron Ludington-Ronald E. “Luddy” Ludington is a legend in the world of figure skating. His numerous accomplishments date back to 1956 when he was the U.S. Junior Pairs Champion. In 1958, he was the U.S. Silver Dance Champion. Between 1957 and 1960, Ron and his partner won the U.S. Championships for Pairs Skating four times. He earned the Bronze Medal at the World Championships in 1959. He was the Bronze Medalist at the 1960 Olympic Games. In 1965, he was the World Professional Dance Champion. Mr. Luddington’s coaching career began 56 years ago. He has coached 65 skaters to National 1st Place titles. He has coached multiple Olympians (including Kitty and Peter Carruthers, Carol Fox and Richard Dailey, Suzy Semanick (Schurman) and Scott Gregory, Natalie (Catron) and Wayne Seybold). Nine of his skaters have achieved World Medal Placements. He holds a Masters Teaching Rating with the Professional Skaters Association in all disciplines (figures, freeskate, ice dance, and pairs). He served on the President’s Committee on Olympic Sports under President Ford and was also a member of the Board of Directors of the United States Figure Skating Association for ten years. Since 1975, he has been a member of the Delaware Olympic Committee. Mr. Ludington has accumulated multiple honors as a coach. In 1988 was named Coach of the Year by the Ice Skating Institute of America. In 1990, he was unanimously voted Coach of the Year by the Professional Skating Association. He was elected to the United States Figure Skating Association Hall of Fame in 1993 and the World Hall of Fame in Figure Skating in 2000. In 2000, he was also inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the Professional Skaters Association Coaches’ Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Ice Skating Institute of America Hall of Fame in 2004.

    Elizabeth Bryde-Freeskating, Moves.


    Charlene Campbell-has 5 years of coaching experience and 22 years of figure skating accomplishments. She has a Bronze Medal for USFSA Moves- in- the- Field and passed USFSA Juvenile Freestyle; she is currently working on her Silver Medal for USFSA Moves and training in the Adult Figure Skating World. Charlene is an active PSA and USFSA member, who is coached under Master Rated Figure Skating Professional, Patti Delisi. She offers lessons in basic skills, free-skating, and moves-in-the-field.     Anastasia Cannuscio-has been a member of Team USA in Ice Dancing since 2007 and is currently still competing at the Senior Level. She is an international and national medalist. Her and her partner (Colin McManus) are currently competing in their 9th season together. 2010 U.S. National Junior Bronze Medalist--2011 World Junior Team member--2013 Ice Challenge Gold Medalist--2014 Finlandia Trophy Bronze Medalist--2015 U.S. Championships Senior Ice Dance 5th Place--2015 Nebelhorn Trophy Bronze Medalist--Senior Grand Prix Competitor—2016 U.S. Championships Senior Ice Dance Pewter Medalists-- Coaching Experience: Five years I enjoy teaching kids of all ages and levels. Specializing in ice dance, partnering, stroking, choreography and moves in the field.


    Kim Seybold-Catron-Kim was a member of the 1988 Olympic team, a 6-time US National medalist and a 4-time US World team member. She has won several medals for the US at International competitions throughout her career. Following her amateur career, she spent the next 9 years starring in professional Ice Shows. Kim has been coaching for more than 20 years, ranging from beginner to the National and International levels. Kim is a PSA Master Rated coach in both singles and pairs and is currently coaching singles, pairs, moves and power skating.


    Celeste Dix-Skating Achievements: 2012-2015 Fred A. Rust Award Recipient, 2011 Northwest Pacific Regionals competitor, 2011 Graduating Seniors Program Silver Award Recipient, Senior Gold Medalist, 2016 South Atlantic Non-Qualifying Championships Competitor.


    Philip Dulebhon-Is a National, World and Olympic Competitor. Freeskating, Moves, Pairs, Power/Hockey and Basic Skills.


    Michelle Dumler-USFS Gold Medalist-Moves in the Field, Pre-Gold Dance and Intermeidate Freestyle. Michelle has been coaching since 1997 and specializes in teaching Moves in the Field, freestyle, and dance. She has helped skaters achieve their dream of a gold medal through hard work and dedication from both the skater and their coach. Michelle coaches all levels of student, pre-preliminary to Senior, in moves, freestyle, and through Pre-Gold in dance. She focuses not only on emphasizing correct technique, but also utilizing strength and power as well.


    Yovanny Durango-Yovanny has 22 years teaching experience. As a skater he was a sectional Champion and National competitor. His teaching highlights include many National and International Medalist in Novice, Junior and Senior Dance. He has worked with skaters at all levels and in all disciplines, taking many beginner skaters through their gold tests in Moves In The Field and Dance. Off ice, he has trained in ballet, jazz and ballroom dance. He is also a US Figure Skating Technical Specialist in Ice Dance. Lessons available in Freestyle, Moves in The Field, Ice Dance, Choreography and Power Skating.


    Natalia Gudin- is an Israeli former competitive ice dancer. Representing Israel with husband Alexei Beletski, she placed as high as 14th at the World Championships, as high as 9th at the European Championships, and competed at the Winter Olympics. She represented Ukraine with her previous partner, Vitali Kurkudym, and won the 1996 World Junior bronze medal.


    Thomas Harrison-Adult National Coach, Teaches Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Choreography and Power Skating Tom has 13 years teaching experience. He is also an Adult National Freestyle and Artistic Gold Medalist and Competitor, passed Adult Silver Freestyle and Adult Silver Moves. Tom is also a Theatre On Ice Director and Instructor, Ice Show Director at the Centre Ice Arena, trained with National Coach Rick Stengle, and Dance Training in Ballet, Jazz and Tap


    Elizabeth Hollett-Shackett-Coach/Choreographer with 22 years of experience. Canadian National Championships Silver Medalist in Ice Dance, 3-time International competitor & medalist, 4th World Junior Championships. Passed Canadian Gold Dance Test and performed as guest star in amateur & professional ice shows. Rated in 3 disciplines of Figure Skating by the Professional Skaters Association: Senior Dance, Registered Choreography & Style, Registered Freeskating. Graduated from West Chester University with B.A. In Communication Studies, Summa Cum Laude. Specialties include choreography and athlete development from grassroots to elite level. Proponent of professional education and team coaching having collaborated with over 31+ coaches to date, including countless IceWorks staff pros. Coached/choreographed skaters in both singles and ice dance to U.S. National Championships, U.S. Junior Championships, U.S. Collegiate Nationals, U.S. Solo Dance Nationals, U.S. Adult Nationals, and Adult International. Other student achievements include clinching principal roles in Disney on Ice shows Frozen, The Incredibles, and Dare to Dream tours in North America and Europe, and the Universoul Circus. Areas for Lessons: Choreography/On-Ice Presentation, Ice Dance, Moves in the Field, Power & Skating Skills, Beginning Freestyle & Adult skating. Fluent in French.


    Ashley Kabino_has 3 years of coaching experience. Teaches all levels of Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Choreography, and Power Skating. Sectional Competitor in Freestyle. Passed Senior Freestyle and Senior Moves in the Field. • Trained with International Coach Jeffrey DiGregorio & Olympian Natalia Linichuk.

    Dennis Phan- is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2004 JGP Final champion and the 2003 U.S. national junior champion. He placed seventh at the 2004 World Junior Championships..


    Richard Sharpe_Richard has been coaching at the pond ice arena since 2012 but has been coaching since the age of 18. He moved here from Great Britain to train for the international level in ice dance which he has competed at since 2009. He has been silver medalist nationally in ice dance for the past 3 years and has medaled several times internationally as well. Richards skills and knowledge are not limited to just ice dance. He trained as a freestyler up to the age of 16 achieving a senior standard in Britain before committing to dance. Having studied sport science and exercise at college in England, this gives Him a vast knowledge on the science behind what makes a good skater but also a successful athlete. On top of this he trained at one of the highest ranked dance schools in eastern England where he was taught all disciplines of dance including ballet, lyrical, tap and contemporary.
